Daily solitaire board showing today’s Klondike deal with seven columns and the stock

Daily solitaire: one deal for everyone, every day

Daily solitaire gives everyone the same Klondike deal each day, turn 1, with a new one at midnight UTC. Solve it to extend your streak, then compare times with friends. No app, no sign-up and no interstitial before play; it works offline, since the deal is computed on your device, and it plays from the keyboard.

How to play Solitaire

  1. Build the four foundations from ace to king, one suit each.
  2. On the tableau, place cards in descending order with alternating colours: a red 6 goes on a black 7. Only a king can move to an empty column.
  3. Drag a card, or a run of cards, to another column or a foundation. You can also tap a card and then tap where it should go. Double-tap sends a card to its foundation.
  4. Tap the stock to draw one card (Turn 1) or three cards (Turn 3). When the stock is empty, tap it again to turn the waste over.
  5. When every card is face up, Auto-complete finishes the game for you.
  6. Undo is unlimited. A deal marked "Winnable" was solved by the built-in solver before you saw it.

How to play the daily solitaire

  1. Open the page; today’s deal is ready. It is a turn 1 game: one card per draw.
  2. Play by the standard Klondike rules: foundations from ace to king, tableau down in alternating colours.
  3. Take your time; the timer starts only on your first move and pauses when you leave the page.
  4. Win to extend your streak. A streak continues if you also solved yesterday’s deal.
  5. Share the plain-text result from the win panel if you like.
  6. Missed a day? Deals from the last 30 days stay available in the archive.

Getting the most from the daily solitaire

The daily is a single deal, so you can take it slowly. A few habits help.

Survey before you move

Look at all seven face-up cards first. Note which columns are tall, which aces or twos are visible and which kings could use an empty column. Then plan to free the longest column early; it has six cards underneath.

Go through the stock once

On Turn 1 the first recycle is free, so a first pass mainly to see where the key cards are costs nothing but time. Take only the waste cards that help you uncover something.

Keep your options open

Hold back foundation moves beyond the twos until the tableau no longer needs those cards, and only clear a column when a king is waiting. Undo is unlimited, so trying a line and taking it back is part of the game, not cheating.

Race or relax

If you are racing for time, remember that the timer only starts on the first move, so studying the opening layout is free. If you are just keeping a streak, a hint shows the next move of a winning line when one exists; the first two hints in a game are free.

Is the daily solitaire deal winnable?

The deal is generated from the date and checked by the same solver as every other deal. If the first candidate cannot be proven, up to three more derived from the date are tried, and the first proven one becomes the daily. On the rare day none is proven, the header says "Not guaranteed" instead of "Winnable". Everyone gets the same result.

Daily solitaire streaks and stats

Your streak, best streak, games won, win rate, best and average time and best score for the daily are kept in your browser, separately from the other variants. The timer pauses when the page is hidden, undo is unlimited, and each finished daily gives you a short result to share.

Plays anywhere, no app, no account

Today’s deal is computed on your device from the date, so it opens offline, and every pile can be played from the keyboard. Tidy Puzzles runs entirely in your browser: there is no app to install, no account to create and no interstitial before you can play. After the first visit the game also works offline, because each puzzle is generated on your device from a seed. Every board can be played with the keyboard alone, on a phone or a desktop, and your stats and unfinished puzzles stay in this browser rather than on a server.

Frequently asked questions

When does the daily solitaire change?

At midnight UTC. Everyone in the world gets the same deal for that date.

Is the daily deal turn 1 or turn 3?

Turn 1: each draw turns over one card.

How do streaks work?

Winning today’s deal adds one to your streak if you also won yesterday’s; otherwise the streak starts again at one. Your best streak is kept too.

Can I play yesterday’s solitaire deal?

Yes. The archive keeps the last 30 days of dailies.

Can I replay the daily after winning?

The page shows today’s finished deal. Start a normal game on the turn 1 or turn 3 page for more play.
