Daily puzzles: one shared puzzle per game, every day

Daily puzzles that are the same for everyone: a Sudoku, a Minesweeper board, a Solitaire deal, a FreeCell deal and a Nonogram, one of each per day, with a new set at midnight UTC. Solve today's to extend your streak, which is kept in this browser and nowhere else. Free, no sign-up, and because each daily is computed on your device, today's work offline too.

Today's five dailies

How a daily is made

Every game on the site is generated from a seed. For a daily, the seed is simply today's date in UTC plus the game's id, so your phone, a friend's laptop and a stranger's tablet all produce exactly the same puzzle without a server telling them what it is. That is also why today's dailies work offline: the generator is already on your device.

Because the seed includes the date, the daily changes at 00:00 UTC. That is 8 pm the evening before on the US East Coast in summer, 1 am in London, 10 am in Sydney. If you finish one just before the change, it still counts for that date.

Streaks, stats and the archive

A streak counts consecutive days on which you solved that game's daily. It carries on if you solved yesterday's and today's; miss a day and it starts again from one. Each game keeps its own streak and its own best streak, next to played, won, win percentage, best time and average time.

The last 30 days of dailies stay available in the archive on each daily page, so you can catch up or replay one you liked. The timer pauses when you switch tabs and the board is hidden while paused, which keeps times honest.

Streaks and stats are stored in this browser's local storage. There is no account, so a different browser or device starts from zero, and clearing site data resets everything.

Sharing a result

When you finish a daily, the win panel shows your time, moves and how they compare with your best, and offers a Share button that copies a short plain-text line: the game, the date, the time and the page link. Paste it wherever you like; nothing is posted anywhere by us.

Playing a daily without the pressure

Hints work on dailies, and the first two are always free. Undo is unlimited on the puzzle games and the card games. If you would rather not race, pause the timer or turn it off in settings; the daily still counts as solved when the board is complete.

Frequently asked questions

What time do the daily puzzles reset?

At midnight UTC, the same moment worldwide. In your local time that is a fixed hour that shifts with daylight saving; each daily page shows the date it is using.

Do I need an account to keep a streak?

No. Streaks are stored in your browser. The trade-off is that they do not follow you to another device or browser, and clearing site data removes them.

Can I play yesterday's daily?

Yes. Each daily page keeps an archive of the last 30 days. Older dates are not available.

Is the daily Sudoku always Hard?

Hard is the default. You can switch to Easy, Medium, Expert or Evil on the daily page; each level has its own puzzle for the date, and it is still the same for everyone at that level.

Why did my streak reset?

Either a day was missed (the streak needs consecutive UTC dates), or you are in a different browser or device, or site data was cleared. We cannot restore streaks because we never had them.

Are dailies the same on phone and desktop?

Yes. The puzzle is computed from the date and the game, so every device produces the same one.
