Play the 4096 game: 2048 with a higher target
The 4096 game is 2048 with the finish line moved one doubling further. Same 4×4 board, same rules, but you need two 2048 tiles to meet, which means surviving roughly twice as long. Free, with no app, no sign-up and nothing to click before you play; it works offline, saves your game on the device and plays from the keyboard.
How to play the 4096 game
- Slide every tile on the 4×4 board with a swipe, an arrow key or W, A, S, D.
- Equal tiles that touch merge into their sum, once per tile per move.
- A new 2 or 4 appears after each move.
- Reaching 2048 does not end the game: the target here is a 4096 tile.
- The game ends when the board is full and nothing can merge.
4096 game strategy: making 2048 twice
A 4096 tile holds twice the value of a 2048, so it takes at least about 1,860 moves and a score in the region of 45,000 points. The hard part is the stretch after your first 2048: that tile now fills a corner permanently, and you have fifteen cells to build a second one.
Treat the 2048 as a wall
Once the 2048 is in the corner, play as if the board were a little smaller. The next chain, 1024, 512, 256 and down, must line up next to it along the same edge. Any tile that lands between them costs many moves to clear.
Keep the snake going
A 4×4 row holds only four tiles, so the chain must turn into the second row and run back the other way: 2048, 1024, 512, 256 on the bottom, then 128, 64, 32, 16 snaking back above. Keep that shape and the whole board collapses into the corner in a cascade when the last small tile doubles.
Play slower near the end
The riskiest moment is when the board holds 2048, 1024, 512 and a crowd of small tiles. Look at every free cell before you move, and use the one-step undo if a slide leaves the edge row with a gap.
Daily, stats and printables
The timer starts on your first move and pauses when you switch tabs. Stats are kept per board in your browser: played, won, win rate, best and average time, and best score, saved when a game ends in a win or a loss. The 4096 target has its own stats, separate from the standard game, so your 2048 win rate is not affected by longer attempts here.
Undo takes back one move. There are no hints, since 2048 has no single right move. Each game has a puzzle code such as A7K3Q; open it with ?p= to replay the same start and the same new tiles. The end panel copies a short result to share. There is no daily 2048 and no printable version.
Plays anywhere, no app, no account
Your 4096 attempt is saved on the device as you play, so a long game survives closing the tab, and it plays with swipes on a phone or the arrow keys on a computer. Tidy Puzzles runs entirely in your browser: there is no app to install, no account to create and no interstitial before you can play. After the first visit the game also works offline, because each puzzle is generated on your device from a seed. Every board can be played with the keyboard alone, on a phone or a desktop, and your stats and unfinished puzzles stay in this browser rather than on a server.
